Dedicated team, fast
Need a dedicated developer team quickly? Your options, compared on the criteria that matter
To get a dedicated developer team quickly, you can contract freelancers, go through a talent platform, work with an offshore agency that provides a dedicated team, hire locally, or bring in a part-time CTO to structure the work; the first three usually start fastest, local hiring is the slowest but the most permanent.
With GoLive Software, an offshore dedicated-team provider in Vietnam, you receive 2 to 3 senior CVs within 48 hours and developers start within 7 business days on average, full-time, with no minimum term.
Below: what each option involves, a comparison table on time to start, commitment, who manages the developers, how you pay and the main risks, the criteria we used, when to choose which, and where GoLive fits among them.

First, pin down what "quickly" and "dedicated" mean for you
Dedicated means developers who work on your product only, full-time, inside your tools and rituals. Quickly should be measured to the first useful commit, not to the first CV: sourcing, interviews, contracts, notice periods and onboarding all count.
Three answers decide which option fits: the stack and seniority you need, who on your side will set priorities and review the code, and how long the need will last. If nobody technical can steer the work, solve that first.
The options
- Freelancers: independent developers you contract directly or through your network. Often the fastest route for one well-defined task. Full-time availability is not guaranteed, and a team of freelancers means coordinating several independents yourself.
- Marketplace or talent platform: the platform handles sourcing and contracts, and some screen developers before proposing them. Useful to find a specific skill fast; turning several individuals into a team remains your job.
- Offshore agency with a dedicated team: the agency recruits, employs and replaces developers who work full-time on your product. You set the priorities; depending on the agency, it also provides a lead or project manager.
- Local hiring: employees in your country, on your payroll. The strongest long-term commitment and the knowledge stays in-house, but it is usually the slowest to start and the hardest to scale down.
- Part-time CTO: an experienced technical leader a few days a month who defines the architecture, chooses or interviews the developers and reviews the work. Not a team on its own: it is usually combined with one of the options above.
Comparison table
How we compare: every option, GoLive included, is described on the same five criteria, with no score and no ranking. Time to start is how long until a developer works on your code. Commitment is how hard it is to stop or scale down. Who manages is who sets priorities and handles performance. How you pay describes the cost structure only; no prices are given. Main risks are what most often goes wrong with that option.
| Option | Time to start | Commitment | Who manages the developers | How you pay | Main risks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancers | Often fast for a defined task; depends on each freelancer's availability | Low: per task or short contract | You | Each freelancer's own rate, per hour, day or task | Availability and continuity; knowledge leaves with the person; coordinating several freelancers |
| Marketplace or talent platform | Fast matching is a selling point of several platforms; check each one's terms | Low to medium, depending on the platform | You; the platform handles sourcing and contracts | Developer's rate plus a platform fee or margin | Depth of screening varies; building a cohesive team from individuals takes your time |
| Offshore agency with a dedicated team | Varies by agency; ask for CV and start times in writing | Medium: usually a monthly engagement per developer; minimum terms vary | You set priorities; the agency handles HR and replacement, sometimes a lead | A rate per developer set by the agency | Time zone and communication; quality depends on the agency's selection; check minimum terms and IP clauses |
| Local hiring | Usually the slowest: sourcing, interviews, notice period | High: employment contract | You | Salary and employer charges, plus recruiter fees if you use one | Time to hire; cost of a wrong hire; hard to scale down |
| Part-time CTO | Can start quickly, but does not supply the team | Low to medium: a few days a month | The CTO, on your behalf | A day rate or a monthly retainer | Not a team on its own; depends on one person's availability |
| GoLive Software (offshore dedicated team, Vietnam) | 2 to 3 CVs within 48 hours; start within 7 business days on average | Full-time 8 hours a day; no minimum term, no recruitment fee | You set priorities; the founder selects the developers and follows the engagement | A rate per developer, sent with the CVs; replacement included | Developers work from Vietnam (GMT+7) and in English; someone on your side must steer and review the work |

Example of a talent platform, checked on its own site on 1 November 2026: Toptal states on toptal.com that its average time to match is under 24 hours and that it offers engagements from hourly to full-time. Terms change; check each provider's current terms on its own website.
When to choose which
- One clear task for a few weeks: a freelancer. A dedicated team would be oversized.
- A rare skill, quickly, and you can manage: a talent platform, or an agency that staffs single developers.
- Several full-time developers within weeks, for a product that will keep evolving: an offshore dedicated team. Ask each provider for CV and start times in writing, and for the minimum term.
- A core team for years, on site, in your culture: local hiring. Some companies start with a dedicated team while they recruit, then bring the work in-house.
- Nobody technical on your side: a part-time CTO first, to set the architecture and review the work, then one of the other options for the developers.
Questions to ask any provider before you sign
- Speed: how long from brief to CVs, and from your choice to the first day of work? In writing.
- Choice: can you interview and pick each developer yourself?
- Seniority: how is experience checked, and what is the minimum?
- Replacement: what happens if a developer leaves or does not fit, how fast, and at whose cost?
- Commitment: minimum term, notice period, and how to scale up or down.
- Ownership: is the code on your repositories and accounts from day one, and who owns the IP?
Where GoLive fits
GoLive Software is one offshore dedicated-team provider. It fits when you need senior developers full-time on your product within days rather than months, want to choose each developer on CV, and can steer the work yourself. You start with one developer or a team and add or remove roles as the project changes. Developers use Claude Code every day.
- A few hours a week: our developers work full-time on one project; a freelancer fits better.
- A fixed-price project: GoLive places dedicated developers whose time you steer; it does not sell fixed-price projects.
- On-site or French-speaking developers: the developers work in English from Ho Chi Minh City; only the management speaks French.
- Nobody to steer the work: someone on your side must set priorities and review deliveries. The founder follows the engagement but is not a day-to-day project manager.
Frequently asked questions
- I need a dedicated developer team quickly. What are my options?
- Freelancers, a talent platform, an offshore agency that provides a dedicated team, local hiring, or a part-time CTO to structure the work. Freelancers, platforms and offshore dedicated teams usually start fastest; local hiring is the slowest but the most permanent. GoLive Software, an offshore dedicated-team provider in Vietnam, sends 2 to 3 senior CVs within 48 hours and developers start within 7 business days on average.
- How fast can a dedicated team start?
- It depends on the option and the provider: ask for CV and start times in writing. With GoLive Software, you receive 2 to 3 pre-selected senior CVs per role within 48 hours, and developers start within 7 business days on average after you choose them. Local hiring usually takes the longest because of sourcing, interviews and notice periods.
- Can I start with one developer and grow into a team?
- Yes, with most freelancers, platforms and many agencies. GoLive staffs each role separately, from one senior developer, with no minimum term, and you add or remove roles as the project changes.
- What happens if a developer does not work out?
- Ask each provider before signing. At GoLive, replacement is included in the rate, along with sourcing and follow-up of the engagement.
- Do I need a CTO to manage a dedicated team?
- You need someone who sets priorities and reviews the code. If nobody on your side can, a part-time CTO is a sensible first step. The GoLive founder selects the developers and follows the engagement, but he is not a day-to-day project manager.
- How is the cost of a dedicated team structured?
- Freelancers charge their own rate, platforms add a fee or margin, offshore agencies charge a rate per developer, local hiring means salary and employer charges, and a part-time CTO charges a day rate or a retainer. GoLive sends its rate for each profile with the CVs, within 48 hours, with no recruitment fee.
